Still not sure? Here are the most frequently asked questions we receive from business owners
Does social media work for every business?
Whatever type of business you run, you will benefit from having a social media presence. Not every social media platform works for every business though There is no blanket approach to social media marketing so we will work together to decide which of Twitter, Facebook, YouTube. FourSquare and industry specific forums will give you the best exposure. As a minimum, every business should make use of Linked in and Blogs.
Running my business keeps me so busy I don’t have time for social media
The methods we teach are based around getting the best results in the least amount of time. Running your business has to be your priority but if you look at your daily schedule, you are sure to be able to find 30 minutes each day of ‘dead time’. By this we mean the time you spend waiting for the kettle to boil, waiting for a meeting to start, half watching TV in the evenings etc. This is time which you could put to better use marketing your business with little extra effort. If you honestly can’t find any spare time, why not consider our managed service where we do all the work for you?
What is Social Media Management?
When your social media presence is managed on your behalf, posts and updates to the agreed social media platforms will be taken care of by Word of Mouth Local. At the start of each project we will draw up a plan which will determine what content is posted on your behalf to which platforms and how often. Any comments to posts will be replied for on your behalf too. At a pre-agreed frequency you will be provided with a report detailing your campaign statistics. Any urgent messages such as requests for more info or a prospective buyer will be relayed to you immediately. A review will be carried out between Word of Mouth Local and the client every three months and a new plan agreed for the following three months.
I already use traditional marketing (advertising, direct mail, networking etc) should I replace these with social media?
No – social media should be utilised alongside the more traditional marketing streams as it forms only part of a successful marketing strategy. However, many small businesses shy away from traditional marketing because of financial restraints. Social media is an ideal option for small businesses as the platforms are free to use. For optimum results a combination of on and offline marketing is best.
Are your services expensive?
We want local businesses to be able to take advantage of the opportunities available with social media marketing so have endeavoured to keep our prices at a reasonable level.
- Our full day (9.30am – 4.30pm) workshops are £97 including lunch.
- 1:1 Skype training is £87 per platform.
- Social media management packages start at £150 per month.
- Bespoke 1:1 and small group workshops are priced from £200
The workshops look very detailed – will I struggle if I’ve not used the platform previously?
No. Whichever platform is being taught, we cover the basics of setting up a profile and what information you should show in your profile through to understanding how to carry out the everyday tasks before moving onto the more advanced features available. In the Face to Face workshops everything will be covered in the same day. Working on a 1:1 basis allows more flexibility so we can schedule a basic session to get you up and running then cover the more advanced features in another session a few days later when you’ve had time to get comfortable with using the platform. If you’d like to split your 1:1 session in this way, please request by email at the time of booking.
Do I need to be trained in social media? Isn’t it easy?
Everything is easy once you know how. Although our training does cover the basics of setting up profiles and how to post updates, this is only a small part of the sessions. Having spent years using social media daily and paying great attention to the methods used, we have developed a programme based on proper use in least time giving most results. Many business owners rush in and make mistakes which unfortunately reduce their online credibility. We share those mistakes so you can avoid wasting time getting it wrong and we show you how to find targeted users who want what you offer every day. Clients we have worked with say we offer the most content rich training sessions in the marketplace.
I don’t have Skype – can I still receive the 1:1 training?
Yes. Skype doesn’t require both users to be connected via a computer. If your computer does not have Skype installed, you can receive the call on any landline telephone. If you have a smart phone (iPhone etc) you will be able to download the Skype app which will enable you to connect via Skype using the earphones provided with your phone.
If you are local to Reigate, we can also arrange to carry out the 1:1 training in person.
I would like a few of my employees to receive training together on several platforms. Do they need to attend separate workshops?
No – we can arrange a bespoke, tailored training package covering as many platforms as you require. This training can be carried out in person at your premises or via a Skype conference call. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
I have mobility difficulties; can I access the venues you use for the workshops?
